The "REACH Act", South Carolina Act 26 of 2021, requires all undergraduate students to complete a three-credit course that requires, at minimum, the reading of the U.S. Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the Emancipation Proclamation, a minimum of five essays from the Federalist Papers, and one or more documents that are foundational to the African American Freedom struggle.

This course is a survey of U.S. history from discovery to 1877 and includes political, social, economic and intellectual developments during this period.
PSC 201 American Government 3 SHC
This course is a study of national governmental institutions with emphasis on the Constitution, the functions of executive, legislative and judicial branches, civil liberties and the role of the electorate.
