Paywalls can be a frustrating research dead end, and they are becoming increasingly commonplace. If you're unfamiliar with the term, a paywall is an online obstacle you may encounter when a website requires you to pay a fee to access its content, or in this case, newspaper articles, podcasts, or videos. The PTC Library offers several newspaper databases for students, faculty, and staff, as well as access to Greenwood's Index Journal (email librarian@ptc.edu for access). The NYT and WSJ also provide videos and podcasts in addition to traditional news media formats. Newsreels are available in the Films on Demand database through the page links below (select more filters to narrow by producers such as ABC News, BBC Worldwide Learning, and Reuters News & Media or browse producers).
Includes full site access to news and sports coverage, podcasts, games (Spelling Bee, Wordle, The Crossword, and more!), recipes and cooking advice, and Wirecutter reviews. NOTE: The *first time* you access the NY Times, click on "Create Account." Subsequent times, go directly to nytimes.com and log in and/or download the New York Times app.
Provides full-text of the WSJ, the premier financial newspaper; includes business, financial, and world news coverage, personal and company profiles, and more. ** NOTE: After initial registration, you may go directly to www.wsj.com to log in.
