The library offers library orientations and classroom instruction. For classroom instruction, we come to you! We will teach your students about information literacy, or how to find, evaluate, and use information resources effectively (primarily those offered by the library--you might be surprised what you can find in the Online Catalog!).
We welcome the opportunity to work together on assignments, like a midterm or final paper (students tend to learn information literacy skills best when they imminently need them for an assignment). Please submit a copy of the assignment two weeks before the scheduled library instruction session and plan to be present at the session.
We want to hear from you!
As subject experts, PTC faculty are encouraged to participate in developing our collections. Please reach out with your recommendations for subscriptions or resources we can purchase to support college curriculum and research.
Library purchases are dependent on availability of funds and librarian assessment. Send your suggestions to librarian@ptc.edu.

These guides showcase library resources for specific subjects. For example, a research guide for nursing will provide suggestions for which databases and journals are most relevant, book suggestions, which section of the stacks to roam, professional nursing associations, government resources, and how to follow APA citation rules.
These subject guides focus on topics like the research process, writing a paper, and citing sources using MLA format.
The Library Skill Builders interactive series walks students through key skills like developing a search strategy, finding books and articles, evaluating sources, avoiding plagiarism, and understanding copyright basics. Once students complete the tutorials, they earn a certificate of completion which they can email to their instructor.
Search for articles, book reviews, interviews, documentaries, educational exercises and more.
